Farming Yesteryear. September 11th

Hi to all,

I have been asked for the last five years to judge vintage cars in a section of the farming yesteryear event at Scone Palace just two miles from Perth.
And I have made enquires this year as to the cost of taking my old Bedford, the princely sum of £2.00 per motor the same for clubs.
They will be putting the entry forms onto their website in the next two weeks,
if anyone is interested in joining the Bedford section for this September 11th (that is a Sunday),you can find their site by typing in Scottish Vintage Tractor and engine Club, from there you can down load an entry form.
This would be a great chance for the Scottish members to meet up, but of course all members are welcome.
Your forms must be in before the end of May, it would be nice to see a show of Bedford CF's last year there was just two.

Doug.

Hello Doug,
We will definitely be there, our form has already been sent off. Has to be one of the best rallies in Scotland. Fantastic venue, brilliant autojumble, easily accessible (don't be in a hurry to get out), picturesque location and, to top it all off, you're in the bright lights of Perth & Dundee (sorry Doug, couldn't help myself mate).

Farming yesteryear.

Hi Rae and Ann,

Glad to hear you guy's will be there, if I can get the Bedford through its MOT I will be as well, don't know if the judge job will be on as yet but it will be a good day anyway.
So I hope to see a good showing of the Bedford CF-UK club members, its low cost and there is a lot to see, and buy from second hand too new parts and tools.
Plus if your in a campervan you can cook your own food instead of waiting in line and being ripped off, eat cheap and when you please.
Something to please everybody and a great family day out, and it seems to get bigger every year, so let's make it even bigger this year.

Doug.

Hello Doug,
That's great news. In Ann and myself's opinion Scone is probably the best show in Scotland; certainly better than Glamis but unfortunately Steam in the Park is no longer in the running. Truly a fantastic venue in the grounds of Scone Palace but beware of low flying bats

Bats.

Hi Rae and Ann,

Are these old bats, cricket bats, or belfry bats, on a more important note, I have had that Blar-Atholl gearbox delivered to me today.
Done a check on the gears, teeth and end float and it still has oil to the level, so tomorrow I will stick it on the test rig and check out the sincro's and mainshaft bearings.
So far it looks like a good box, another cheap gearbox for the club I hope, if so it will go on sale to club members for the price I have paid.

Think we are going to do this one too. Been on the site but can't seem to find the entry form. Any ideas where to find it?
Cheers Ally & Hayley.

To all those going to Scone, Ann and myself will be departing midday and taking a nice, leisurely drive towards the bright lights of Perth and Dundee; final destination will be Scone Palace: the home of the Stone of Destiny.
Hopefully see you all there.

The stone of Scone.

Hi all,

I hope to be there about half ten on Saturday, but if you want the real stone of Scone guy's it is kept in Edinburgh castle.
The English decided to give us it back in the mid ninety's, after all there royal 's had been wiped on it.

Well we're here. The good news, it's stopped raining. It's starting to take shape already: traders and exhibitors alike. Off to make dinner then have a little libation.
See you here Doug and anyone else who's coming.

Failed to show.

Hi all,

Due to a number of unforseen events I was unable to get to the Scone meet, maybe next year.
