tk fuel leaks

Feeling rather proudish of myself, i'm not used to diesels & this one has 6 of them cylinders!
it was getting a bit tetchy & cutting out at junctions & lacking power after
a few miles of driving, no scary noises,. so i got new fuel & air filters &
cleaned out the pre-filter, man the gauze in that thing was absolutely clogged with green wax!
anyway, due to my not having a manual for the specific model & not having anyone looking over my shoulder to tell me what to do i kind of didn't bleed it
for long enough or something & ended up having to undo the injectors & bleed away..
Hey presto, she started!
BUT, here's 2 pics, the 1st one,. this nut on top wont do up, it wasn't my
fault i swear! it just wont do up, what do i need to replace here? the whole injector?
the 2nd pic is of another seepage where the pipe meets the injector, does the nut look slightly wonky to you? i've undone it, wiggled it,
done it back up, ran the engine & it still looks wonky & it still seeps..

My 1st TK job, could've gone worse,.. i suppose,.. glad i didn't give
up & call a proper mechanic! :-)

thanks for looking

k8

Leak-off bolt in the first photo probably has stripped threads. A new bolt should sort it; injector cap is harder material so the threads in that should be ok. Fit new copper washers when renewing bolt.

Injector pipe in the second photo may have a cross-threaded union nut. Best fix is a replacement pipe, either second-hand or made to pattern from the old one.

hi phil, thanks for your reply, only just got around to getting the bits off
for a look & sure enough the bolt in the 1st pic is well shot, no obvious damage to the pipe but it was leaking so i should try & replace it.

thing is, i've benn hunting around all day can't find the bits i need & there
doesn't appear to be anyone in our area that can make up fuel pipe.
getting very short on time now as we're due to move into the lorry in under 2 weeks & i'm on my own with this little problem as my partner's very busy finishing off the interior!

does anyone know a good place to look for parts or of any loctiteish stuff
i can use for a quick temporary fix?

thanks

Try local truck dismantlers; might find someone with a Bedford 330 engine that you can pinch the bits off.

A diesel injection specialist might have kit to make up a new injection pipe & could have spare leak-off bolts.
