The fan dose not blow a lot of air out anyway.

Take the cover off the heater matrix and check to see if its blocked with dirt.

If the ventilation control panel has 4 screws & the temperature control is on the left then pull off the 2 plastic knobs, unscrew the panel then fit it the other way up: temperature control is on the right.

There isn't much air appreciable flow to the screen ducts compared with modern cars but there should be a good flow into the cab when the ventilation control is fully down.

Likely problems if air flow is non-existent are the ventilator control cable detached at either end or wrongly adjusted or a mat of fluff stuck to the heater matrix (radiator) inside the heater box under the bonnet.

Because the 4-screw panel on Facelift & early CF2 models can be put in upside-down (later CF2 panel has a locating peg at the top & only 2 screws).

apologies first for jumping on this thread but i have similar problems

fed up with F**k'in freezing all the time in my CF350D (Opel 2.3 diesel) because i can never seem to keep water in the heater circuit, i am trying to modify the water circuit with a 3L Carlton rad and header/expansion tank which i am going to mount up high up in the engine bay thus getting the 'head of water' above the heater, has anyone done anything similar to their Bedford?

also the heater fan seized up and whilst taking it apart the plastic section of the motor crumbled apart and some of the motor brushes fell out, which now means the motor is knackerd. Any ideas where i could get another fan motor or another motor that would fit in the space and do the job?

thanks Mikeyboy, your heater fan motor is different to mine, mine has a longer motor with a plastic, open framework area where the brushes sit, it's this part that has crumbled.
read elsewhere that the original type fan isn't the most powerful so perhaps i might have to investigate getting a fan, perhaps salvaged from another vehicle of a different type and modify to suit.

The cure to lack of water in the heater matrix is to fit a 12v pump to the inlet pipe close to the engine.

This is such a simple mod that they used it in the frontera and before that in the vw (spit)

Can be sourced at your local motor factors or ebay.

Heater radiator.

Hi to all,

I removed the heater matrix so that I could give it a clean because of the dampness all the road dust and dirt sticks to it and cuts down the force of air off the fan.
But the matrix fell apart on removal, I was lucky enough to have one in a job lot of spares I bought last year.

Doug.
