Tax date set back.

Hi to all,

I was due to tax the old Bedford from Monday but with all this fuel strikes and high prices I think it would be better moved to a museum.
If this is how the summer it to be it will kill off all the plans we have made due to high costs, is this what the goverment are hoping, to reduce traffic.
It would be easier for them than repairing the road system, their thinking seems to be if you are not rich you should not have a car anyway.

Doug.

Hello Doug,
Ann and myself are finding it harder to do the long distances nowadays. As before a lot of our rallies were down south, now most of them are north of the border. We are finding it a struggle as well.

Tax date.

Hi to all,

Hope to have the Bedford taxed for the end of this month, I can't wait to get away for a few days but I still have a few mod's and checks to do.
And I am waiting for two Vauxhall gearboxes that I have bought to arrive from Bradford, hopeful of gaining some spare parts from them.
They should have been here by the 29th of March, guy said he has sent them but will chase up the carrier on Tuesday.
Still got one rebuilt box on the bench and I have picked a secondhand box for a Suzuki van or Bambi type van, enough to keep me busy for now.

Hello Doug,
Great news about the spares; it's always reassuring that you have a gearbox in stock in case anyone has a mishap. Keep the good work up and I speak for all of us on the site, your work is well appreciated.

Fuel and weather.

Hi to all,

My Bedford should be taxed for the start of May but I think in the next two weeks I will take off the wheels and turn it into a boat so that it can coupe with our weather.
Then I can row it along no need for petrol, the plan was to buy one of these army inflatables and just drive on and strap it down.

Vauxhall gearboxes.

Hi to all,

The Vauxhall gearboxes deal fell through, won the bidding on ebay and paid for them on the 21st March should have arrived 31st but did'nt got in touch with the seller assured me they were on the way.
A week later still on boxes, seller said the carrier had lost them but not to worry he would sort out the problem, another week still no boxes.
So got in touch with ebay and asked them to treat the problem as a dispute, they have now said I will get a full refund but I would sooner have had the gearboxes.
So my production line has came to a halt, and I back to getting on the wife's nerves, at this rate I will forced to take my hoover test.

Hello Doug,
Not so good. If you're really bored I've got a type 9 sitting here that I've been contemplating putting in my van or if you really feel ambitious I've got a Laycock overdrive to play with.

Gearboxes.

Hi Rae and Ann,

I am up for some of that shovel all the bits into a cardboard box and drop them off anytime you like.
