Noise when releasing clutch

Hi - just noticed (as it was warm enough for the windows to be open on the van this last week ) that when I have put the van into 3rd or 4th gear and then take my foot off the clutch there is a noise. Not a clunk, more of an almost suck noise. This doesn't happen when going into reverse, 1st or 2nd and there are no other noises from the gearbox area when driving and I have no trouble selecting gears. Should I be concerned ?

Noise.

Hi ScoobyDoo,

That is a strange one, I have came across that kind of noise on fluid clutches but not on cable, it maybe from the spring fingers of the cluch cover or maybe the release bearing as you let the pressure off.

Doug.

Thanks Doug. I'm now wondering if it is the pedal having a squeak. It seems to be when the weather is hot. It isn't causing any driving problems and I have had another look underneath and I'm sure the cable doesn't need adjusting. I guess I will see how it goes for a bit. Getting the ignition replaced at the mo as she started cutting out again.
