The springtime work begins.

Hi to all,

Well it is all go now to get the Bedford ready for the road again, with all the checks adjustments and replacements needed to get back up to MOT standard.
All going well but still a fair bit to do, plus I have started to buy in some spares like suspension ball joints and brake hoses, trackrod ends and wheelbearings, because I have noticed they are getting scarce and the price is going up.
So a small stock of the more commonly needed parts seems to make some sense,
looking at the price raise in some of this stuff on e-bay and other suppliers.
It means spending a bit of money on stuff I may never need but it will be good to know its there, saying that the parts that I don't buy will likely be the parts I end up needing, sods law!

Doug.

Hi Doug,
Yeh, spring is here so all the jobs will start. Fired up the van last weekend so at least she starts. As you say, tidying up and ready for back on the road and the dreaded MOT. Look forward to meeting up at a few shows again this year.
All the best, Ally & Hayley.

Springtime.

Hi Ally&Hayley,

Yes the MOT time is always a worry because some station seem to think it is their job to put old motors off the road, I was a tester myself for a while so I don't take any nonsense and the guy I go to knows that.
Hope to meet up with you guy's a few times over the summer at some of the rallies.

Doug.

Springtime.

Hi Big Bopper,

Yep what you say is about right, the vans become worth more and we become worth less, but people are now like motors in that they can be repaired from scrap and no longer required parts from other people.
So the medical guy's are just like us always serching for parts, nice to think you are going to be broken up for spares! ahah.

Doug.
