Couple of things probably amiss,firstly members who actively post and actually have a vehicle on the road,secondly,in a previous quote by Pete;

"all we are trying to do is get this great club busing again and arange some meets Rgards Pete"

Does a few lines about a meet actually get the site buzzing,i can appreciate that meets are your thing,pete, as the past has proven,but you need members to be actively involved too generate any interest,so far a third of those interested own a bedford,thats 1 out of 3,i`d be more interested in getting the numbers up elsewhere on the site first,then with a healthy audience you can arrange meets,with a chance of a good turn out,that said i wish you well in your endeavour....

Hi Alex

May i point out the club is not just for CF owners but as always been for those with an interest in said vehicle, You will also see there are sections for folk who are interested in other vehicles

Meets give people an opportunity to put a face to a name and get a better understanding of what someone may be posting, as lots of posts can be interpretted differently by different people.

The list of those attending at the moment may only have one CF on it but the other two have lots of years amd miles of experience owning and driving CF's

also it is to try and get folk to realise that they can get involved even though theirs is not in prestiegne condition. or if they want to turn up in something else

finally for now if you put your name on the list and attend with your CF then that will boost the number of bedfords to 50%

look forward to meeting you

John

Your right John as always a hub of information,how fortunate to have such a person as yourself on here to correct me,i was just trying to point out that unless the numbers are there it will be difficult to reach the 10 required,nothing more,nothing less,and no i won`t be attending the meet as its catered more for south of the border,but thank you for invite,and as i said before,good luck with it and have a lovely time,i will as always look forward to the pics and feedback,as the old hands are back in charge,it can`t be anything but successful,like Malvern,getting 40 members from here at one time was indeed a great achievement,can it be that again without other clubs attending to make up such numbers,time will tell,as we`re in good hands...

Forgot to add incase i`m misunderstod,i can`t afford the journey from Scotland to meet,and knowing my luck the van would take a wobbler and breakdown,-visions now folk of "Basil Faulty" beating his austin 1100 with a branch-,yep that would be me,but if a meet was closer i would be happy to attend even in my estate car for the day and meet up with you guys,i do hope the numbers increase and everyone enjoys themselves,but as always its up to the members.

Hi John,having looked again at your post,your comment as quoted;

"Meets give people an opportunity to put a face to a name and get a better understanding of what someone may be posting, as lots of posts can be interpretted differently by different people"

putting a face to a name and engaging in friendly banter is what i would see as a meet being about,but the part about posting sounds rather ominous,as i`m sure if a post is misunderstood on here it can be and should be dealt with on here,not later, amongst people who have gone along to enjoy themselves at meets,this would appear to have maybe been the problem in the past if this happened,and is something that should be addressed now before any future upset is caused and perhaps resulting in loss of members through it,or have i misunderstood your post? if so,if you put me right,i`ll stand corrected once more,cheers

Thank you for reply John,as far as attending meets myself,not that interested nor can i afford as explained previous,and its not mandatory as a member too attend anyway,my whereabouts has nothing to do with you or anyone else,colin has an email address for me thats all thats required for contact,still no clearer on your quote,but if i helped you be understood a bit more by my interpretation then i`m glad,as sometimes its hard to be understood as your quote clearly states,and as i won`t be attending meets wouldn`t have had the chance to ask you there for an explanation of your post/quote,again as quoted,at least its partially sorted now on the forum where it should be done,thank you for allowing me to help.

Alex. I did not say it was mandatory to attend meets all I ask is if you post anything be it about meets or any other subject then it should be fact and not hearsay.
All I asked you was how many meets you had attended from your answer I assume it is none that is your. Choice. you are. Not. In the best position to advise. People. Of what happens. At these meets

Everyone has the right to post there views on something. Even if others do not agree but let's have facts not hearsay

John, where have i advised people about meets?

i simply asked you to explain your quote about members attending meets and having to explain their posts to you or others?

As your having problems giving a straight answer,and seem more interested in my whereabouts and my advice skills,i`ll try and make it clearer-

Being part of Admin in the past,yes, i did hear the odd bit of hearsay,and as that left it alone,but one or two facts as well,but being told in confidence thats where it`ll stay,but i do know some incidents did occur,unfortunately some of the members on the receiving end have left the site,because of these and didn`t wish to cause trouble on the site by exposing those involved,who by all accounts will know the facts themselves,and if their still around of course these posts may cause them upset in their little routine,your quote,as far as i can see would give them,if their still around,the opportunity to badger members about posts they didn`t like,or as you have innocently put it misunderstand,so have i made it a bit clearer now as to why i had to question it john if sanctioned this could be used as a form of intimidation, bullying even,almost mafia like really,would you not think that,imagine being placed in that situation yourself,its a scary thought,well i`d be,another reason for not attending,of course you could retract the quote and if their still around,they might not be any the wiser,shhh!!!

Hi Alex

Your whereabouts do not concern me what does is the fact that you need to lie about them. how many other things that you post are untrue

The things you state that go on at meets about people being asked to explain their posts has never happened at any meet that i have been involved in or attended.

You say you do not attend meets but it is fact that you attended the third rosendale meet in 2012 ( see posts in rally archives) that is your choice but why hide the fact. is it at these meets that people where put to task about their posts as i did not attend any of these yes my choice as attending meets is not mandatory.

You mention your involvment in admin yes you then had the power to delete posts you did not agree with

I can remember the time when this was truly a members club and people where not afraid to post their views until some people in admin decided they knew better and tried to control it from behind closed doors.

lets give this club back to the members and lets hear their views obviosley outright abuse is not condoned

I have no intention of retracting any of my posts
John

WOW,CHARACTER ASSASINATION WHICH IS TRULY UNFOUNDED,BECAUSE I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION,IF THATS ALLOWED THEN ITS NOT A VERY FRIENDLY,HONEST SITE,I NOW HAVE TO ASK ADMIN TO REMOVE YOU FOR THIS UNJUST OUTBURST,WHICH MUST BE CONSIDERED AS I HAVE NOT MADE ANY PERSONAL REMARKS ABOUT YOU,OR IN ANY WAY ASSASINATED YOUR CHARACTER,OR IS THIS THE NEW SITE AS WE SEE IT UNFOLDING,I`LL WAIT FOR ADMIN TO COME FORWARD AND REPLY.....

AND JOHN YOU STILL HAVEN`T ANSWERED MY QUESTION--
