How to carry bikes on a CF van

Any clever options on how to carry bikes on a CF camper van? Want to take two adult bikes at least, and the obvious solutions of tow bar mounted or back door mounted are all difficult on a CF due to the opening back doors. Was thinking of some sort or rack attached to the main opening door on the back, but wonder if the frame of the door and the hinges can take the extra weight. If anyone's solved this conundrum, a photo would be appreciated. The only other place really available would be the small space in front of the pop top roof on a roof rack, but not really practical or large enough for putting bikes up there.

Bikes.

Hi Middld,

If you are talking about full sized bikes then I would make up a carrier that mounted them on the front of the van, but the best way around this problem for me was to buy two folding bikes and stow them up on the top bunk while travelling and bung them underneath the van when camping.

thanks for the ideas. Looked up the fiamma and they look possible. If it was mounted on the right hand door, did the wheel of the bike stick out beyond the side of the van? Also did it obscure the rear light cluster?

I'm not interested in folding bikes, into proper mountain biking so want to carry my proper bikes.

saw this in another post, but it doesn't work on a normal van - the doors are wider than on an ambulance, and also there are several safety concerns...

Following Pete's picture, I researched and found this - http://www.fiammastore.com/Fiamma-Carry-Bikes-For--Minivans/Fiamma-Carry-Bike-200-DJ probably the perfect solution as it fits to the right hand door but the bike is offset so it still sits in the middle of the vehicle. I'm going to ring them to try to find out if it's suitable (from the fitting instructions, looks likely to fit to virtually anything)

Hi the one we used had adjustable wheel tracks so thay slid in or out, so the bikes sat in the middle of the van ,but when no bikes on you could slid them in so thay did not stick right out across the two doors,

i have a towbar mount on my CF250 after looking at various weird and wonderful ideas, For all the time it takes to remove them as a whole unit with 1 person holding the weight, it's definately the easiest option :-)
