our Glastonbury trip mark 2

well this one was a good one we started packing early so we were ready for the off and every thing went well .we usually leave in convoy at 2am tuesday but as last year we had a fire in the cab and then got lost a few of the younger ones didnt want to follow an old wagon going 50mph lol .
so we left early about 11.30 and had SUCH a great drive up no traffic nothing ...well until castle carey when all of a sudden i seemed to have picked up about 20 cars lol [bet the wished they had got in front of me ] any way got in to the car park by 2.30/3.am and cracked a cider open .
in the morning we got sorted with bands and stuff and headed into the site and THATS WHEN IT ALL STARTED TO GO WRONG ...........

for those that dont know glasto the way in is on a track and that track is NOT made for campers although its the only way you can go ...so half way in ..going REAL slow i was rockin real bad and some thing didnt sound right then when i got to the field i was trying to be nice [ plus tony who tells you where to park ] and was going back and forth when the old girl died .
all i had was click click then dead .
anyway we had a great festi saw the 5 bands i wanted to see high lights ...P.I.L OF MONSTERS AND MEN and the rolling stones PLUS ALL THE OTHER GREAT STUFF THAT IS THERE and so to monday when had to be pull started [so im thinking its the starter motor earth wire ] and although there was quite a bit of traffic i managed to nurse my baby home plus 3 hitchers and gear lol ..
she is now parked up out side and ill have a good look prob mon .
so far this year shes done me proud ive been to 3 festis and 1 lovely wedding anniversary camping trip.
NEXT ill sort this out and with so hope and good weather take her off again this time with my daughter and gran daughter .

well thats about it sorry for the length and thanks for all your help ..
guy and sharon

Unlucky !!!

Had a great time, didn't take the CF, but hitched a ride down
in a vw ex AA van !!
Got there tues around 1.30 am, and apart from the blow up bed deflating by
4am i had a cracker of a week.
Got to see my target bands of the stones, 3 daft monkeys, the beat , hobo jones,
slamboree, and Chic ( what a magical couple of hours that was !!!! ). Plus
loads more, including Department S who were good.
The circus acts dotted around the fields were brilliant, it was just a
pity that the travellers and ''crusties '' seemed to be banished to
the outer part of the site.

I noticed that security was a bit less tight this year. We had a lot more fence jumpers and to me the fence looked smaller than previous years and was only a single fence not double skinned. Festival Republic are no longer in charge of logistics and I think some of the stuff brought in after 2000 has been dropped. There were a lot of small changes in organization this year that probably go unnoticed as a punter but as crew we really noticed the difference.
