Electronic speedo

Hi there, I'm new to the forum as I am bedford cfs. I got a van conversion in June last year and love it. The previous owner has changed the engine and box to a transit di 2.5 which all works great.
To my problem......the cf obviously has the cable drive speedo but the box has an electronic sender on it. Are there any speedo heads I could use to connect to the gearbox sensor.
Many thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,welcome to the site.
Could you not use the speedo from a Transit similar to the original?

BTW
Happy Birthday!

with out major work the simple answer is no.

you will need a transit speedo head along with the wiring loom.
fitting all this is a major job as the electrics is complicated..........

If the gearbox has a speed sensor wiring just fits in place of the normal speedo drive then it will be simpler to find a drive, cable and speedo head off an earlier tranny to fit.

the manual speedo head can be easily retro fitted in place of the Beddy head .

Many thanks for the replies and thanks for the birthday wish

My mate has a n reg transit motorhome and that has the cable drive on it so I might be able to use his reg to order the correct drive.
Again thanks
Darren

Just a couple more bits of info . . . . . . .

If you fit a tranny speedo and speedo drive, its' accuracy (or otherwise!) will depend on the back axle ratios and the tyre size as compared to the Beddy.

It's easy enough to check this on the road against a sat-nav. Once you know if there is any error or not at least you can make allowance for it!

Cheers.

Pete.
