old cf parts

Hi all,

My mother has recently passed away. We are in the process of clearing her house, and there is an old Bedford CF camper on the drive. It hasn't been used for years, and I doubt it would ever run again, the rust is extensive and there are weeds growing into the cab!

However, it may be a useful source of parts, and I would prefer that some of it at least would continue to bring pleasure to someone.

I'm trying to gauge interest with this post really, to see if it is worth he effort to advertise or whether or not to just have the scrapyard take it away. I can upload some photos if anyone is interested.

Thanks.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. It can be a very harrowing time dealing with a bereavement.

Some pictures would indeed help to assess the viability of a sale.Could you be more specific about the area you live in.(Which town)There may be a member close to you that could come & take a look.

Hi, thanks for the replies, I've uploaded some photos. We haven't found the key yet so no photos of the inside, but looking through the windows there is a lot of damp got inside so I don't think any wood or fabrics will be salvageable. We are near Crawley if anyone is interested.

Hi All,

I'm guessing that there isn't a huge amount of interest in this vehicle, but here's a link to the eBay listing just in case. It's destined for the crusher if not sold during the auction so here you go

Thanks

From a personal & "club" point of view, yes there is.
It's destined for the crusher if not sold during the auction
....

Particularly if that's the option.
Unfortunately, neither I nor the club have funds or space to rescue all the old beddys.I really do wish that wasn't the case.
When we win the lottery..........

Well here's hoping that it goes to a good home. We've tried our best to get in touch with the right people and there are a number of watchers. My other half has restored numerous older vehicles, mainly land rovers, and is pretty convinced that this Bedford is beyond repair in it's own right, but I know that we would all like to see that at least parts of it go on to keep others running.
We have been over today with a jump pack, and the engine turns freely, but no spark.

Adrian Bailey in Leeds would probably be interested as he brakes them and sells parts at a hefty profit
