Battery charging

Hi all,would it be possible to use a Lucas SRB 335117 4ST external solenoid as a Relay between 2 batteries?Cheers Jim.

Hi Jim,

The solenoid your thinking about will most likely only be able to handle 12 volts.

its not made for constant use and will more than likely burn the windings out.

If your wanting to charge the extra battery then you need to use a LUCAS TYPE SPLIT CHARGE RELAY SRB600/SRB631 12V 60A 33RA 4 Term. HEAVY DUTY 1047 or similar

if your looking to use the extra battery for starting then a SRB 335117 4ST c will work but if your intending to use it as an extra leisure battery then a second SRB600/SRB631 12V can be adapted to join both leisure battery's together if you so wished
