Advantura Adventures

So now that all the work is done, the fun can begin.

We bought our Advantura motorhome 4 days before Christmas last year and spend the last 4 months tinkering away and sorting out lots of little bits and bobs and giving it a damn good clean to get it just right for some holidaying fun.

All in all it's a little 80's time warp with some modern upgrades.
I fitted an new water pump for the sink and shower and a Propex hot air heater which was handy during our first short break away in April. It just takes the chill out of the air and makes it nice and cosy.
I've also made a home made rear bike carrier using a couple of used Halfords roof rack bike carriers mounted on extended bumper brackets, so we'll stay mobile at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next week. A 5ft trailer board just plugs into the rear lighting loom and the whole lot can be taken off in 5 minutes if we don't need it.

I'll post some more pictures when we're back, until then Happy Camping everyone

Well we're back now and all went okay.
Done about 900 miles all in all and the Bedford did it without a hitch.
Takes a bit of getting used to 4 gears and travelling at 55mph tops, but then we weren't in a hurry and took plenty of country lanes for the more scenic routes rather than the boring motorway.
First we went to Le Mans, than a campsite by a lake near Troyes and than Limburg in Germany. Weather was everything from torrential rain to baking hot sun.
Attached are a few pictures of the motorhome in use.

Got a short weekend planned next week and then in 5 weeks we're off to Germany with Berlin first and then down to Hockenheim to the Nitrolympix.

Happy Camping
