Gearbox noise.

Hi joe ni,

Sounds like main-shaft bearings which are imperial size and no longer made unless you can find some one with old stock from the 70's and 80's, a second-hand gearbox that has been check-over for ware is the only other way round your problem.
Or you can buy a used gear from e-bay or other sites and hope you have a good one, which you will only find out after it is fitted and being driven.

Gearbox.

Hi joe,

The ZF four speed box will need an adapter plate to mate up with the 2.3 slant Bedford engine and a prop-shaft and centre bearing.

Diesel gearbox.

Hi joe,

Are we talking about a slant four 2.3 petrol engine that you now have in your Bedford, if so to convert that set up to diesel or make the 2.8 gearbox fit your present set up would be costly and a lot of work.
If you have a petrol slant 2.3 Bedford with four speed Vauxhall/Bedford gearbox then replacing it with the same would the cheapest easiest and quickest way to sort the problem.

Replacement gearbox.

Hi joe,

I have one left that is not yet spoken for which has been checked over and tested it was in my own Bedford when I first bought it six years ago, it was taken out because I picked up a near new gearbox which had only done 36,000 miles so I changed them over.
Not because it was giving me any problems just that I knew this other box had done a lower mileage, and at that time I had to replace the clutch which had just started to slip.
Its price would be £70.00 and you can arranged carriage after your cheque had cleared in my account, I have on idea what carriage costs would be to Ireland.
But one has been sent off to the Isle of Man using Parcel Force about a week ago, their carriage weight limit is 30lb and that is what these gearboxes weigh.
Send me a P Mail if you are interested.
