hole in camper roof

hi I want to repair a small hole in my camper roof its a drill hole about the thickest of a pencil my roof is fiberglass on top and then plywood under that the hole is about a inch long I think there would be a small space between fiberglass and plywood any ideas

Hi Joe,

Being fibre glass the outside is best repaired with the same stuff first and then I think I would glue in a wooden plug on the plywood.

It would as long as you coated it over with some sealer once it had set.

thinking of painting it after with some marine paint just when your on doug I have a small leak off oil in my gearbox where the speedo cable goes in is there a seal in there are how would I stop it

Speedo leak.

Hi Joe,

That is a very common leaking point but it is from the cable not the gearbox and there should be an O-ring rubber seal inside the cable treaded cap, oil has to lub the speedo drive but it can leak past the threaded cap and run along the cable.
