Tidying up the Bedford.

Hi to all,

Managed to get some tidying up done on my own Bedford today both inside and out, inside was easy but outside was dealing with the progressive march of rust and old fillers I never knew was there until wet and the frost did its handy-work.
But when I look at the number of owners through old MOT's and tax disc's and the places it has been tested and taxed, from Tee-side to Portsmouth and back up to Derby then Edinburgh and probably a few more in-between it is no surprise it is showing its age.
This will be its sixth year here in Perth, hated by some and the laugh of many as they past bye.
but it has served me well both as a campervan and a therapeutic aid in my retirement from the motor trade, let's hope it continues please me and dumfound it critic's for a few more years yet.

The tidy up and checkover.

Hi to all,

Having checked that everything is working inside, water heater shower hob and oven it was time to start cleaning off the winter grime from the outside a wash off and then make a start to some T-cutting.
That is when you realise just how much grime there is on the bodywork, lot's more still to do before it is brought back to colour except for the rusty bits.

Every Bedford owner's dread.

Hi Guy,

Sorry to hear that, my old Bedford has had three outing's but very short one's and has cover about 55 miles in all and on the pre MOT run of about eleven miles it was a case of settling in the brakes.
Since then it has done another 44 miles going out to work on Jason's Land-cruiser at the farm, but on return from these runs I like to check for any leaks or noises I did not like the sound of.
Being laid off of the road for months through the winter can cause some strange problems to pop up, hope you are back on the road soon.
