Head gasket Hi all, I have low compression on cylinders 3 & 4 ('73 CF1 petrol 2.3 slant 4) so suspect the head gasket has gone. Does anyone know of a 'how to' for removal of the cylinder head? The Haynes manual does not cover this in any depth. I'd rather have a go myself rather than pay excessive labour costs! Thanks. | Sat 23 Apr 2016 @ 13:17 |

Low compressions. Hi Seve73,When say low compressions on three and four cylinders what are the readings, how much of a difference between one and two and three and four, has the engine lost power or hard to start? Is the engine using or losing water and is there water coming out of the exhaust when running hot or is the temp. gauge going into the red. If none of the above it could be bad seating valves or broken piston rings, an easy test for that is to squirt some oil down each plug hole and take the reading again. doujoy ---------------------- | Sat 23 Apr 2016 @ 21:14 |
