anti rattle gearbox kit

how do i go about fitting the anti rattle kit on the 4 speed gearbox I have seen the diagram but I cannot follow it any help thanks joe

Gearstick rattle.

Hi Joe,

Is the kit you have like the one supplied by Adrain Baily or one that is bought from else where, I made up my own which can be adjusted by adding a shim washer.

its the adrain baily one not much in it 2 plastic washers and some metal ones 36 pounds worth

Washers.

Hi Joe,

What I think the idea is that you put one plastic washer into the top of the turret and push it down to the bottom, then the gearstick will go into place with the second plastic washer going on top followed by what ever number of metal washers needed for the treaded nut to press down onto to get the gearstick tight enough not to rattle but not too tight that makes it difficult to shift gears.
With out seeing the kit you have bought that is what I think the idea would be.
