Bedford CF1 Glendale 1978 (Lamps and Indicator issues)

Hi all,
I recently purchased the above 2.3L Motorhome with 12 months MOT. As I was driving home the lamps started flickering and a smell came from the dash. It seems the connection is overheating. In the process of trying to work this out I accidentally broke the indicator/flash stem! So I have these two problems that I'm really hoping someone here can please help me with. I live in Ammanford in South Wales.

Electric's.

Hi New2CF,

Sounds like a short has taken place maybe due to bare wires or corrosion, the CF fuse box is prone to corrosion because of where it is sited, a leak from the windscreen or the inner wing panels tends to land onto the fuse box.
You could move the fuse box or cover it with a plastic bag if that is what the cause turns out to be, indicator switches can be hard to find but I have adapted an old Leyland Mini one, with the help of a multi-block connector until you can find a Bedford one.
