Today I finaly bolted the last bolt to hold the gearbox now I just have to lengthen the prop and weld it up,hopfully this will go as before and not need balancing.I am now finding it harder to install gearboxes by my self as (the wife say's )my age is catching up to me but hay ho thats life.Cheers+Beers Jim.

Gearboxes.

Hi Jim,

Glad to hear you are getting through the reconversion back to Bedford, like yourself I have recently upgraded my gearbox and found it much harder going than in past times, my excuse for my struggle was that it was an overdrive gearbox and almost twice as heavy.
But the truth is at seventy two years old I am just daft, but I still think like a twenty five year old, my son who is in his forties thinks I am daft and should locked up for my own safety.
We are of a generation that did not know how to slow down far-less stop, but I am still waiting for the next generation to start!!

Gear box

Today I put everything together and as I suspected the prop is 3inch to short so I will be going to the pipe shop for a new length then the fun starts with the welding.Cheers+Beers Jim.
