Leaking Roof

Hi all

Hoping somebody will be able to give us some advice on our latest issue, we have a couple of leaks from our roof, would anybody be able to recommend the best method of identifying where the leak is coming from and also any products to that will seal the roof?

Thank you very much
Nathan

Leaking roof.

Hi Tinker,

On one had more roof leakage problems than myself and after trying a number of recommended treatments all of which failed to do a completely successful job I decided to recover the entire roof with sticky back flash-band.
With careful attention to the roof light joints and mountings and the side seams where the roof meets with the side panels and this was a successful job, but the next thing to do was to take down the inside ceiling panels and strip out all the soaking wet ply-wood which was still holding water ad the cause of that damp smell.
Apart from the time involved the cost was around £80.00 but well worth it, it also gives you a chance to get a good look at the timber wood frame of the van.

I've never tried this stuff myself but I've heard very good reprts of 'DICHT-FIX'. You just paint it onto the leaking (and surounding) areas. Try a search for it on ebay. Prices vary from £8.99 upwards
