Cold and damp.

Hi to all,

Starting the old Bedford this morning took a lot of battery power and prayer but she did start on about the sixth attempt, not been started due to recent events but I hope to get her out onto the road tomorrow for a short run just to check that all is as it should be before hopefully going away for a few days.

Hit the road.

Hi Crawford,

Yes I think you are right I just had one more gearbox to send off today down to Suffolk so now clear to go anytime I like.

Test drive.

Hi to all,

Well because of not being used much this year and having had one or two issues on my last long trip I got the old Bedford started this morning and took it out for a short road trip, and all went well until I got stopped at a set of lights on a narrow bridge, the lights changed and off I went but right on top of the bridge the gearstick popped out of the box at the same time as I went for second gear.
So I had to be pushed off the bridge by two rather annoyed car drivers who were
stuck behind me, managed to find third and turned off onto a side road.
Once out of the way of traffic I set about refitting my gearstick and finish my test drive on the round trip back home no more problems.
That has never happened before but I will have to workout some kind of safety device that will stop that from happening again, it is as if it choose its moment!
