cf carb set up i think

hi people,

im restoring a old bedford cg 1979 well trying to anyway lol :)

sorting the engine out through i would give it a service but all 4 spark plugs are black etc

it idle's just drives abit but does start to bog abit etc but starts on the button

its not been used for 6 years

any info would be great

Hi Jason,

It looks like it has been running very rich (getting too much fuel) and not enough air, backing out the air bleed screw at the base of the carb allows more air into the mixture.

Hello Jason. If you haven't serviced it yet remove the air filter element and clean out the housing and tubes of any debris. Then run the engine without the filter element fitted to see if that improves the running. A blocked filter will cause a rich mixture.
