Biggar.

Hi to all,

Getting ready for my trip down to Biggar for the Albion truck rally on Saturday and Sunday might be able to pick up a suitable carburettor for my old Ransome tractor down there, or at least one that can be adapted to serve the purpose.
Hope the weather is in a good mood!

Bedford gremlins.

Hi to all,

On the way home from all that tractor engine work last night I thought I heard a bearing noise from my old Bedford so while out for petrol to day I had a run around and sure enough there was a bearing noise.
So after doing all my pre-journey level checks of gearbox diff engine and fuel I went around all the wheel bearings and found the offside rear was growling, checking back I found that it was the one I had replaced two years ago.
I had a choice not going to Biggar or getting stuck in and replace that wheel bearing, when I checked I had one in my parts store so I have just finished putting it all back together so it looks like Biggar is still on.

Wing and a prayer.

Hi to all,

Setting off for Biggar tomorrow in the hope that all goes well and I don't get anymore strange noises from anywhere and nothing falls off, pretty much standard Bedford procedure pre-journey.

The Biggar Rally.

Hi to all,

Just got home from the Biggar rally at half six, A good rally and a productive one, managed to pick up a replacement carburettor that can be adapted to fit my Ransome tractor and got a suitable paint for once all the rust has been buffed away.
There was a rebuilt Ransome at the rally but a much younger model but very nicely done, it was for sale at £1500 but no takers.
Met up with a few regulars to chat to about our old vehicles and look over a good show of Albion trucks and buses, auto jumble was as always very good.
But going by the sound of my old Bedford coming up the road it is in need of a bit of work very soon!!
