Engine swap out

Hi Guys
I'm sure that is a question that's asked over and over again, we've just purchased a 76 CF motorhome the engine has only done 39k ( well that's what the clock says) its a petrol 2.3 I'm pondering what to do with her I need reliability so was considering a engine swap. Does anyone know the best thing to go for or should I spend the time and money on the current unit.
Any advice would be great
Thanks

Engine's.

Hi Slane84,

The slant four engine that have in your Bedford seems to be a low mileage one, there are two ways to go for you keep it and see how things go and see if it is reliable or replace it with one you will know nothing about.
What I find is by keeping the slant four engine it is easy to repair and very hardy mine has done over 100,000 miles 73,000 when I bought it, but if you do decide to go for another engine I know a few people who have changed to ford along with a ford five speed gearbox.
If that is what you decide to do remember your Vauxhall/Bedford engine is very easy to sell right here on this site.

Thanks for the advice, got my machanic friend coming over to check it out. My first choice is to keep the slant 4 clean it up and keep plugging away.

Thanks again and will keep posting updates to the resto
