Bedford CF 1988 automatic

Hi, looking for anyone who owns or has heaps of information on the Bedford CF 1988, petrol, automatic transmission camper. It's fitted with the Holden 3.3l blue top straight six engine. I bought one last month and have had a few issues, it needs:
- throttle cable
- radiator fan
- thermostat (temperature sender)

Any info around the van, anyone that may have encountered these things before. Just a shout out really. Have contacted all the parts places on the website, so just looking for any more information, I didn't know it would be so hard to find parts. But she is a beauty and would like to get her up and going asap.

Thanks
Joel Saunders.

Hello Joel.
Is the cable for the Holden engine the same as the 2.3 or 2.0 litre. If not do you have a duff one for a pattern so you could make one up. Adrian Bailey has a cf refurbished cable on ebay... £50 though? so making one could be cheaper.

Regards Andy

Easy enough to make one up from a bike brake cable .

Thanks :)

So this is a question about the Holden straight-six blue 3.2l engine - on the Beddys used as ambulances in London - has anyone got an engine bay vacuum diagram or anything to show how the hoses are arranged in the engine bay?

Someone has messed with the pipes at some point it seems and it's not in the Haynes manual as to how they are routed.

Finally, if anyone has an ambulance get in contact please as we are hitting a bit of blank wall in terms of information out there. Would be nice to share info.

Joel

THE Holden engines where an Australian import and I expect if you can get on to the http://www.buga.com.au/ they should be able to help you

another option is the victor club as they also used the same engine in their big 6 car

Bedford auto 6.

Hi Joel,

The throttle cable as already said is easy and cheap to make out of a length of cycle brake cable from Halfords, as for the overheating could be thermostat but a compression test would be good to check the readings.
An excessive amount of water from the exhaust or the engine oil being creamy coloured would mean that water was getting into the sump through a leaking head gasket.
Make sure that the radiator is not choked as many people use a Rad-weld type sealant to try and cure this type of problem.
