Anon Deleted Posts : Location : Status : Offline	Hello everyone.... Hi i joined the forum about a year ago, Roi will remember a van he looked at for me that unfortunately was too huge a job for us! He will be pleased to learn that today we bought our first beddy. Its a Bedford CF autosleeper 2.2 A reg (Jan 84) we paid £1000.40 for her. The alternator needs changing and the body work is a bit shabby (stickers and lots of tape hiding rusty bits) but apart from that she is tidy inside, drives really nicely and has a brand new MOT with 50,000 on the clock. We are beddy virgins and we have no idea how everything works yet. There is no manual and if anyone has an idea of where we can get one from we would be grateful. A list of things we need.... User Manual (unless its ok for me to bug you about every little thing) The aluminium support for the table that goes in the floor (there is a hole in the floor at the moment) A new roof vent cover Roughly how much for a new paint job, or any tips on rollering and if this actually looks any good when finished? What the switches and socket are for on the wall above the cooker? What is the best type of insurance and where do we go for it? Im sure you have read all the questions above many times before, so please severely repremand me for not searching through loads of posts for the answers. looking forward to your prompt reply much love caro photo's to follow.... ----------------------

NO. 1 85010 429 8 Price £16.99 I think the club might have a discount from them, Best thing whould be phone them on 01963 442080 or e-mail at sales@haynes.co.uk They also do a very good manual;- The Motorcarvan Manual No. H4047 ISBN 1 84425 047 4 £17.99 If you phone them get them to send you a Catalogue of publications DVD's ect. They seem to cover most things except how to repair Space Shuttles !!! Also e-bay often have the manuals but make sure you get the later book which has updates for the CF2. The support for the table and the roof vent cover can both be obtained at most good caravan spares shops. As for painting, it depends how much you want to spend, I bought a cheapish air compresser and spray gun and re-sprayed it with celuose out side on a rare fine summers day (re-member those) with no wind but beware those bloody fly's. If you go with hand painting then Roi's the expert at that and will no-doubt tell you how he did Blod. As for the switches I presume that this is your Zig unit and as there are many different types I would try to ask someone local with caravan Motor home experience to advise you. As for insurance look up the post in the "General" section under insurance. All the best with your Beddie and try to get to some of our "Meets" ----------------------

I have learnt so much from the people on here.Its a great site.! If I have the same model as you, I can help with regard to the switches,I assume there are 2 from left to right - the first one is the water pump switch and the next one is the 12v activation switch.But on mine they are above the rear door. Hope that is of help Dave

I want ours to be light aqua blue (the colour in these posts nearly) Ill post some pics soon later today of her. Dave, Ill also post a pic of those switches. Anon Deleted Posts : Location : Status : Offline	Mark here again new shiny alternator fitted, engine starts on the button and purrs water tank is leaking, still can't get pump to work , or work out where it's hiding inside. it's not under the sink anywhere, and looks it may be lurking somewhere behind the oven, but i can't work out how to get back there with dismantling everything or taking the oven out..... i'm thinking about having a good look around underneath at some point to see if one has been bolted on somewhere, though i am warming more tot hte idea of putting a new fresh water system in myself does anyone know where the fuses are for the camper van bits (ie not the main van fuse box near drivers door) ?

Knowing what bacteria can live in it I use a big container of bottled water from Asda its about £1 and lasts all weekend for teeth and drinking tea etc. Washing up I fill the kettle at the site tap or use the site facilities. Water systems on a camper by there nature can be difficult to clean and keep clean. Milton etc when used in slime filled water pipe will steralise the slime it wont shift it. ----------------------

What is the 12v leisure battery switch for? I've been trying to work mine out. Does it just switch the battery on and off? Or does it allow it to be charged from mains hookup?
