Update on my lad Hey France,Phil Bradshaw from the website is coming for a gander this Saturday, so hopefully he may be able to rescue the engine, fingers crossed. So I'll know more then. I just can't wait to get it on the road. I had it measured for a new carpet yesterday. My friend is a carpet fitter and he has recommended some carpet usually laid in offices, it's virtually indestructable and extremely hard wearing. I just hope he can find it in orange, as thats the colour theme I am going for! Ha! Char x | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 13:37 |

We went for linoleum in the end because of the dogs. But hard wearing carpet sounds good. Orange hmm.... would that be a 70s orange theme perchance?...;-) Nigel. | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 15:20 |

Absolutely!!!! 70's all the way!! The colours, prints and patterns are fabulous. My house has original 70's orange and brown patterned carpets throughout, everyone walks in and looks down in disgust ha!, and my bathroom is an original 70's terracotta suite. People tell me my house would be lovely if I updated it (generally meaning magnolia everywhere and a white bathroom, boring). But I don't think so, colour is charactor and it changes the mood more so than anyone realises. I am looking for some mustard yellow/orange patterned 70's fabric for the curtains, I can't find any anywhere! Char | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 17:19 |

The only problem with carpet is keeping it clean. I fitted some secondhand laminate a friend was taking up Before and after pics http://thattoheathmountainrescue.piczo.com/bedfordcffreewaycamperbertie?cr=7&vsrc=search_google&linkvar=000044 I feel you should be able to find some 70s Lino. When we took the carpet up mine still hade the original 1972 Lino from the factory, it was ok just dirty ---------------------- | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 17:27 |

The laminate does look nice…. But is soo 90’s ;-)... lino maybe an option, but probably best to avoid the 70’s shag pile. Nigel | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 18:27 |

The best place for material is Abakhan fabrics. The nearest to you is in Preston. I dont know how large it is. I enjoy a rummage in the Liverpool branch. They have a huge place in Mostyn, North Wales. Yes its a day out but you rarely come away empty handed. My sister pointed at my curtains and said 'oh they have to go'! A friend asked if I had just had them made to suit and werent they lovely! Its all down to taste and my sister is a fat chav! | Thu 05 Nov 2009 @ 18:47 |

I can vouch for office carpet, I bought an offcut to trim my cab and it doesn't hold the dirt, nor does it wrinkle up like that foam backed rubbish! I went for blue but like the sound of 70s Orange. Search "anderton house" for some authentic 70s inspiration - the company I am working for owns it and lets it for holidays. And yes - it is in Goodleigh in North Devon. | Fri 06 Nov 2009 @ 18:10 |

I managed to get hold of some water resistant carpet designed for hospitals and the like for my cab area. It is quite thin so it 'moulds' well around wheelarches etc and has a very, very hardwearing rubber backing. ---------------------- | Fri 06 Nov 2009 @ 18:32 |

Jeffo, thats not a nice thing to say about your sister, ha! I'll check out that fabric place, sounds good, I'll probably end up spending a fortune and finding excuses to get great retro prints, may even recover the dog! Phil Bradshaw came today to have a look at my Bedford, he has come to the verdict, after checking eveything and dismantling the engine, that unforrunately the bores are shot away (hope you know what that means, ask Phil if not!) so it needs a full reconditiion. Its gonna be a big job and expensive, but I have to get the big man on the road as soon as possible. Anderton House, is that the one in Devon? I could only find one picture for it, with some pretty cool retro chairs. Looks good. Thanks again to Phil for coming to help. x | Sat 07 Nov 2009 @ 20:06 |

Hi Sorry about your van, thought you might have been lucky and it could be fixed easily. I am sure it will be great when fixed though. Mine needs quite a bit of work too and interestingly the previous owner came from keighley, your part of the country. Best of luck Margaret ---------------------- | Sat 07 Nov 2009 @ 20:42 |

If you had ever met my sister, you would realise that I had actually been quite kind! How do you re cover a dog? I guess you have to shave it first. I wonder if you could practice on my sister. Nah, would take too long shaving something like that! She bites! | Sat 07 Nov 2009 @ 21:12 |
