My Self Propelled House.

Iv'e bought a house that's self propelled,
to sleep four although more it's held.
The engine leaks both oil and fumes,
and it's all one space there are no rooms.
There is water pumped though a tap,
but the water heater I had to scrap.
The front shocks all drip with oil,
and if ran too long the radiator will boil.
Both doors with rust are showing age,
you'll be wondering why I bought it by this stage.

Well I've always fancied one of these,
will someone buy it say yes, please!
It came without a spare tyre or wheel,
so to the CF club I must appeal.
Someone fitted a huge towing bar,
but it lowers the suspension way too far.
There are no bolts to hold it on,
just loads of welding really strong.
A towing socket scotch-locked to fail,
and no lights showing not even pale.

The fuel gauge reads a quarter tank,
but only the starter turns the crank.
In the dash a certificate,
to show that the MOT is still in date.
I thought VOSA were a fussy lot,
but who passed this was certainly not.
The headlight beams could not reflect,
its been a daylight driver I expect.
At fifty five the limiter holds your speed,
so with the seller I just agreed.

The rubber fuel line had been sucked flat,
on limiter at all you silly prat.
To light the gas hob would be an error,
could be misconstrued as a an act of terror.
The carburettor could not control the flow,
as the fuel it was using began to show.
A knocking noise caused me some fright,
exhaust against towbar so thats alright.
But hey this old mechanic is having fun,
unless you think that I've been done.

Doug.

Poetry.

Well Hi Abodator,

Glad you enjoyed that bit of poetry, it was inspired by me a mechanic since 1959, yet buying a Bedford CF so old and with so many things wrong with it you would not beleive.
But it is slowly getting there and one day it might even get an MOT, if I can find a blind examiner who won't see all the faults.

Doug.
