Elvis's Nose Job

With the van (we named ELVIS) being spruced up, I decided that with all the rain were having it was time to move one of the job's indoors.
Couldn't have Elvis's nose staying like this for all to see,

or with it just being overpainted to help protect it against the rain.

So of came the tired badges, for a repaint as well.

after a repaint

so next was to sand the bonnet down.

sanded down and all high spots taken off.

WOOP'S, (to shouts of mum dad's made a mess on the carpet)

So my 1 year daughter helped out.

You should have put this down first dad.

So she sat down and supervised me while I painted the underside. I used Hammerite smooth rollable white paint on the main lid, and the green detail was plastikote garden green which hopefully will match the rest of the van's clour scheme.

and voila. the newly revamped bonnet and badges.

Will look nice once refitted back to the van. Still waiting for the new water jets to arrive, these will be chrome with built in green LED's to add a bit of bling. More pics to come.

When it stops raining the rest of the cab will be done, every time i open the lid of the paint it starts raining at the moment.

In the process of fitting under van lighting at the moment.

Excellent - It's not just me that get's 'grassed up' by the kids for bringing things in doors then. My dining room table still has a large patch of varnish missing in the middle where the carb cleaner ate through it......

Good Job!

I can't believe you're allowed to sand paint on the lounge carpet - I wouldn't dare. I had to build a garage and a workshop before I was allowed to start work on the vans.

Nice job, though.
