Return to repair the damage.

Hi to all,

I have just got back from a nice round trip of 266 miles around Argyll, and found a water drip, and thought it was coming from short hose from water pump to bottom hose.
No such luck its from a core plug in the face of the head just above said hose,
so off road for repairs.
But found the Bedshed on our trip running a bit too hot, so having checked out water pump radiator and thermostat, all ok, I have fitted an electric fan from a Renault 5, works just fine.
Mounted it in front of the radiator just behind the grill and fed it through the fuse box and a flick on manul switch, should be a help in traffic.
Just ordered a set of core plugs off ebay for £23.00 so I will have to wait for them to arrive by post from Southamton, my what fun we Bedford people have.

Doug.

Repairing the damage.

Hi to all,

Old bedshed now off road on sorn doc for winter, so its out with that noise that was my gearbox and out with that clutch, flywheel off to repair crankshaft oil leak.
Picked up a new clutch cover and plate from good old Duncan MacAdam here in Perth, He still has some spares left.
Fitted new mainshaft bearings and layshaft rollers to my gearbox checked gears and sincro's all fine, rebuild and test box ready to refit.
Now for the cold and wet job laying under the van to sort out that oil leak,
should be a lot of fun.
Then a bit of undersealing while the box is out of the way, that just leaves the exhaust down pipe to seal up, last job before Christmas I hope, unless we get as much snow as last year.
Then I may trade the Bedford in for a sledge if its not too deer! ho ho ho.

Doug.
