Hey, ScottishVanners

I was just wondering... before I discovered my Beddy for sale on C&C, there was a lovely looking Mk2 Ford Transit on PistonHeads. It had been restored with new body panels, and looked pretty much stock except for red Ford ovals and banded steels on the rear. The colour was a sort of heritage off-white / putty colour, and from the pics it looked to be show condition. It was for sale up in north Scotland somewhere.

Its a long shot asking you I know, but I just wondered as you are part of a Scottish Vanners club... did you happen to know that vehicle or its owner, or did you see it advertised?

I really really wanted that van as it looked like a beauty, but it was too far away to go and view and also cost more than my missus would have ever allowed me to spend. I want my van to look as good as that one did anyway. I really wish I'd kept pictures of it because its not listed any more. This one is though...

What is it about Scotland and pristine Mk2 Transits?

the creamy white mk2 was owned by a guy in connel, he is a member on the scottish capri club the van was painted black in the rear load area and had raceing bucket seats

the blue mk2 is owned by a member of scottish vanners, auldy, one of the best if not the best mk2 example in scotland i have a photo somewere of the white mk2 and auldys van parked next to each other at auldys business ill dig it out and post it , there was a mk1 bull nose flat bed up here as well was restored buy a guy geoff in essex and sold on up here to 2 different people both asking 18+k for it was utterly stunning and restored to a higher standard than it would have been new, also ran completly new engine, electrics and instruments all wrapped in a time warp body, a guy in alexandra was selling what appeared to be a mint baby blue mk1 as well, i keep my eyes open for these vans up here cos it is a way or recruiting owners to scottish vanners.

Awwwww man, that's the one. They're both proper beauties. They look great next to each other too.

Cheers very much for posting these pics and links... I'm going to trawl through the threads you linked right now. I'm determined that one day, maybe three years from now, my Beddie will be as pristine as these.

LOOONG way to go yet though.
